Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes

I have to confess that preparing to leave Mbale to go to Dodoma, Tanzania has its moments of doubts and fears. I’ll be stay with Bishop Jackson in a small village outside of Dodoma called Homboro where I’ll be living without electric power. That will take some getting used to. Homboro is around an hour to an hour and a half from Dodoma so, unlike here in Mbale, I won’t be able to just run into town whenever I want….

An Opportunity To Love

An Opportunity To Love

Just before going to bed Sunday night Bishop Gogo told me that tomorrow we would be going to speak at the Busamaga Secondary School which is close to his home. This is the only secondary school in the immediate area. It is a community school which means that the government does not support them. They have to raise their own support, which is very hard since they are a new school which is not recognized by the government because they…

Ministering “On My Own”

Ministering “On My Own”

This was an interesting 2nd Sunday in Easter. Bishop Gogo had to go to Kampala for a House of Bishop’s meeting on Friday and Saturday and he decided to stay through Sunday. So on Saturday, Bryan and I decide to go the next day to Nabumali to worship and pray with the church there. This is the place where Bishop Gogo wants to build the cathedral for his diocese. There is a chance for them to buy the property next…

Lord, Have Mercy!

Lord, Have Mercy!

Friday, April 4th was one of those days that was interesting right from the start. While I was having my morning coffee, Bishop Gogo tells me that we have a couple coming to be prayed for this morning. So I’m pretty pumped thinking, “That will be a really cool way to start my day.” As they arrive, I see a husband, wife and four children. The oldest child is maybe seven, the youngest maybe around one. They all look pretty…

Settling into Africa-Normal

Settling into Africa-Normal

It’s been a month since I arrived in Africa. I am now back in Mbala, Uganda. It was good to get back and see the friends that I made last year. There have been a lot of changes in just the four and a half months since I left but there is still a lot that is the same. After spending two weeks with Bishop Chuck and the AWESOME team that he brought here, my life has finally slowed down…

Back to My Africa

Back to My Africa

It’s Sunday afternoon and I’m trying to type this on my first public bus ride of 2014. We are trying to get out of Kampala where the traffic is really heavy so we are doing a lot of stopping and starting. But, I’m headed back to Mbale so that makes it not too bad. Bishop Chuck and the team left this morning at 1:10 am so now I’m on my own. It was awesome traveling with them for two weeks!…

More Healings!!

More Healings!!

Well, this has been a whirlwind of a week. We have seen God do a lot of healing the last two days in Mbale, like hundreds of people saying that they felt like God had healed them!! Friday, we went to two of the churches that I visited last year. It was good to see some of my friends again. We prayed for an old lady that could not stand up straight and could barely walk. Well, God showed up…
